Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods
Lecture and Book Signing Hosted by "Inside the Outdoors" October 12, 2007, 7:00 PM, Chapman University

At Tree of Life Nursery, we continue to observe the growing chasm between humans and the natural world in the increasingly developed, intensely manicured and over-crowded urban areas of southern California. We are passionate about the concept of bringing nature close to home by landscaping with native plants therefore facilitating the connection to authentic California. We hope you are too!

The disconnect between 'human' and 'natural' environments is a phenomena that has been observed by many, including best-selling author Richard Louv. In his most recent book Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder, Louv reveals the importance of
"healing the broken bond between our young and nature". Be part of an evening dialogue that not only exposes an alarming trend, but also explores solutions.

This special engagement is being hosted by "Inside the Outdoors" - http://ito.ocde.us/Programs/Richard_Louv_Lecture.htm

Tickets are $10 and we are pleased to offer them for sale on location here at Tree of Life Nursery.

Tickets are also available at some REI locations and online through Acorn Naturalists.
