Join us for the LAST Saturday we will be open for the 2007 Spring Season. Though Tree of Life will remain open to the public every Thursday and Friday throughout the summer, Saturday hours will NOT continue.

This BBQ marks our last Saturday for the season. Summer is not the ideal season for planting natives, but an excellent time to plan what natives to plant in the fall! We will kiss our weekend hours goodbye until October, when we will again welcome you each Saturday with arms wide open.

Abe Sanchez, southern California basket weaver, Mike Grey, American Service Committee and Tree of Life Nursery are pleased to present a special day of cultural exchange, demonstrations and sale of artwork, and insights into in the indigenous culture of the Seri people. The artisans will be visiting from their home village of El Desemboque, Sonora, on the north coast of the Gulf of California. They will bring pottery, baskets, ironwood carvings, musical instruments, necklaces and other items of native craft to be offered for sale at Tree of Life Nursery.

SPECIAL SALE OF NATIVE ARTWORK, 9:00am - 4:00pm
All proceeds from the Seri art sales will go directly to the artists.

Talk - Obsession with Butterflies!






Join Kristen D'Angelo and Vickie Cole from ObsessionWithButterflies.com, for an informative and insightful talk about butterflies. They will speak in depth about the life cycle and habits of butterflies from all over the world, with pictures, posters and interactive discussion. D'Angelo and Cole will also discuss some of the butterflies local to our region, as well as the native plants important in their life cycle. May marks the very beginning of 'Butterfly Season', so come and prepare yourself for summer, when the season is in full swing. Some special butterfly related products will be available for purchase.
